Sprains, Strains and Fractures
Any injury involving broken limbs will obviously need immediate veterinary attention but sprains and strains of tendons, cartilages etc that may occur either through injury or exercise can be helped immensely by simple rest and restricted exercise. Scullcap & Valerian tablets should be given daily to reduce any anxiety and keep the animal calm and relaxed while it is restricted and nature takes its course. Comfrey herb (Symphytum officinalis) whose common country name is Knitbone, was traditionally used to treat these conditions and although this is not commonly available in herbal tablet form for internal use nowadays, the leaves collected from the plant can be useful when added to a poultice and applied to the affected area.
Symphytum 15C is also available in our homœopathic range.
